Soo, have I got some big news for you all
Yesterday, I got married
So, where did this come from you might wonder???
Well, it was uhm, strange ^^’
Here in Eindhoven (the city where my university is at) we have 3 thingies for students, and two days ago I became a member of one of those 3, named Demos.
So, at Demos all our freshmen get a set of parents to guide us through things.
When I was at Demos yesterday, my daddy was bored, so he was adding people’s names in the relationship book (a book with the relationship people in Demos have or have had).
He wanted to add more stuff, and asked me if maybe I was interested in one of the guys that was at Demos at that moment.
I told him I wasn’t interested.
He asked me if I was interested in a guy from Demos that wasn’t there, and even though there is a guy that I’m somewhat interested in, he didn’t need to know that (you all remember the our first kiss poem, yup, that guy )
Sooo, I don’t know how we got to the subject, but at a time I said I wanted a bridesmade tressue (probably not what it’s called in English, but basically in some cultures the parents of the girl have to give the parents of the guy some kind of treasure (usually money) so that their daughter may marry the guy.
People were somewhat familiar with the concept, so they knew that I wasn’t supposed to receive this treasure, but they thought my daddy should receive it.
So then suddenly, for some reason, the bidding began.
Bart bid two beers for me . . . .
Then it was silent.
Finally someone said he’d add a coffee
Silence again. . . . .
Then Bart said he’d give my daddy 3 beers, and thus I was ‘sold’ . . .
So someone married us (he isn’t allowed to by law, so to the law we’re not married, don’t worry )
And someone took a picture of us with his cell phone and printed it, so I might scan it later and post it.
So yeah, basically that’s the story.
I’m a married woman now . . .
